Alaska Trip
Home Up

We got to see the salmon migrating upstream. It was so fun to actually be able to see that. They were HUGE!

I caught this with my bear hands!!! Grrrowl...I got my skills from watching the local bears. But I found I was not as fast as they were so I had to catch this one who had just died and was laying on side of the river.

...uh dad....that's a big fish. There's got to be a good fish story to go with this one.

All the kids at the Anchorage Library. Flowers like these are all over and seem to even grow wild like weeds in some places.

The big Musk Ox at the zoo

Downtown Anchorage

At the beach. Pebble beach? The other beaches you can't go to cause you'll sink in the quicksand. Each year someone dies walking out on those beaches, but I think this one was safe with all the rocks.

We met this famous Real Model out on the beach. Got so caught up in the moment that we forgot to get an autograph.

James at the Portage Glacier Lake

Real nice resort

Beluga point

This is how you dog sled in the summer. This is at the famous Iditarod race headquarters.

Megans Baptism Dress and a pose she invented by herself.

At the baptism in front of the Anchorage Temple.

James and me on a hike in front of the Alaskan Fireweed. We are out on a mushroom hunt.

I loved the mushrooms that would grow wild here. I kept expecting to see little european gnomes walking around living in them.

James with a big mushroom. This shows the size.

I caught one!

Some of these mushrooms got very very big.

This one was quite large.

Out on a charter with White Bear to get some Halibut.

No halibut yet but we caught a soft and crazylooking starfish.

Still no halibut, but did catch a few shark.

Still waiting for the halibut but caught a few stingrays. this one was so big we couldn't even get him in the boat, so just let him loose. (after we took our hook back)

This one was on a charter with The Servent out to get salmon. (Silver salmon)

My first Live Salmon Catch!

Some of these Rock Fish looked like cartoons.

Jacob at Seward.

Our Fish Catch of the day.

This was the Ling Cod I caught. It was so huge! When it was comming out of the water it's mouth was open and it was all full of water and looked twice the size. It could've swallowd my head like a little marshmallow.

We had already filleted our salmon but someone else caught these and so since they looked so much like the ones we caught we took a photo opportunity.

Finally after a day of the most sea sick I've ever been in my life, we caught a few Halibut.

This was our catch of the day!

This is the catch that day of eveyone on our charter. Our captain is the one standing up in the back on the right.

The airport farewell.
